1955 Corvette

When the 1955 Corvette came out of St. Louis, MO, it still had the appearance of its previous two predecessors. But the big news was what was under the hood: the first V8 (265ci). Not all models had the V8, as a small number of 6 cylinders were still built. This year also made another major change in the electrical system. It went from a 6-volt electrical system to a 12 volt.
