1964 Corvette and 1965 Corvette

The 1964 Corvette featured the removal of the split window. The hood recesses remained, and a 3-speed fan was added to the rear of the coupe to help with ventilation. The 1964 model added a wheel feature, the knock-off wheel. The steering wheels in all models from 1964 featured a walnut grain plastic.

The 1965 Corvette had a few appearance changes. The hood lost its recesses, and the front fenders were restyled. The horizontal grill bars were changed to black, but the outer trim remained bright. This was the last year for fuel injection, at least until 1982, when they used throttle-body injection. The big block was unveiled in mid-March. This was a 396ci with 425hp, which came with a special hood. This was the first year the 4-wheel disc brakes were introduced as standard.
